PRACTICE
Having an A.R.V.A.* is good, but knowing how to use it is even better!
The "A.R.V.A.* training zone", located on the lake shores in the heart of Tignes, consists of 8 permanently buried beacons. The beacons allow freeriders to learn how to use or to practice using their A.R.V.A.* on their own. Free introductory sessions are organized every Tuesday at 5:30 pm by the Lac ESF. Join in!
And verifying that your A.R.V.A.* works before heading out is vital!
The "A.R.V.A.* Checkpoint", installed on the totems next to the meather and snow condition bulletins, allows you to test you A.R.V.A.* in transmission mode.
Before heading off-piste, don't forget to set your A.R.V.A.* to transmission mode.
To search for someone buried by an avalanche, don't forget to set it to reception mode.
