Feast your eyes on Tignes, travelling from the lake in Val Claret via the Grande Motte glacier and the Tovière! With 4 HD webcams spread over the resort, you won’t miss a thing. Their mission should you choose to accept it: to give you real-time information on life in resort, the weather or just the enjoyment of spending a few minutes at an altitude of 2100m.
How do you get to Tignes?
By car
Once you’ve arrived in the Savoie, take the A430 and follow the dual-carriageway to Moutiers. At the gateway to the valley, take the RN90 to Bourg Saint Maurice, and drive through the town. At the last roundabout (just before the shopping centre), the D902 takes you up to Tignes and its high peaks. Plan your route on www.viamichelin.fr
GPS Info: your satellite navigation system will often tell you to come via the Col du Petit Saint Bernard. However, it is closed during the winter and is impassable until the end of May.
By train
Daily TGV services and even the Eurostar (only during the winter) travel to Bourg Saint Maurice. From there, you can choose between regular coach links to Tignes (bus station opposite the railway station, booking recommended on www.altibus.com), taxis waiting to whisk you away or car hire (Europcar: 223 Av. Maréchal Leclerc, 73700 Bourg Saint Maurice – 04.79.04.04.20).
By plane
Lyon Saint Exupéry, Geneva, Chambery and Grenoble airports are the closest. Once you’ve landed, coaches and taxis await you but you can also rent a car to take you to Tignes.
