On 27 September, the Grande Motte glacier is making its first move of the winter season
Tignes is opening its ski area little by little starting at an altitude of more than 3,000m with the pistes of the glacier. It is the chance to ease yourself gently back into the big white playground and to test out your new moves before the 2009 winter season.
The glacier: 20km of pistes, 6 ski lifts.
Access is via the Perce-Neige funicular (Tignes Val Claret) taking just 7 minutes.
Opening hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm.

The Tignes Bike Park is going to be open this Autumn From 27 September up until the first snow arrives, the Tignes Bike Park is re-opening the “Mr Freeze” trail that starts from the top of the Grande Motte glacier. It is 5km long with 900 metres of vertical, from the glacier at an altitude of 3,030 metres to Tignes Val Claret at 2,100 metres so don’t hold back!

They are coming back to train again For the third year in a row, the French Rugby League Team will be altitude training in Tignes from 29 September to 3 October.
