FREERIDE WORLD TOUR 09
March 7th-14th 2009

Tignes is hosting the second edition of the new World Freeride ski and snowboarding circuit, the Freeride World Tour, where the best extreme skiers and snowboarders compete against one another. Up for grabs
is US$300,000 of prize money to be shared between the winners of each stage and in each category. After the American and Russian events, the elite riders from Planet Freeride will touch down in Tignes for the penultimate and unique French leg of the tour.

For professionals only
The 2009 FWT is also an elite competition for the 44 best male and female freeriders in the world (ski and snowboard).

Judging is based on three criteria: choice of line, control and fluidity.

Extreme drama on the steeps
At incredible speeds, the freeriders get their fill of adrenaline as they jump off massive cliffs and hurtle down vertical gulleys. It’s enough to give you the shivers! These expert professionals put on a real show for the spectators who watch at the foot of the slope with binoculars.
